Red Cross Athletic Training Certificate
What: Red Cross
Athletic Training Certificate you will receive training in basic
athletic first aid, training and certification in adult CPR and child CPR
When: July 22 Saturday All day
Where: Red Cross
Milwaukee headquarters
Cost: $85, includes all books, materials,
instructor and classroom Four years ago I attended this program. While I had an
opportunity to use what Ive learned over the time since, this last fall
was a real wake up call. During one of our first division games the goalkeeper
for the other team collided with one of our players and fractured a vertebrae
in their neck. Thanks to this training, we were able to identify the problem,
administer care, handle the ambulance issues and communicate with the
EMTs.
Fortunately all worked as hoped and the person is fine
today. I share this only because it underscores the importance of every team
having someone at the field with the proper training. We are launching a series
of soccer-specific sessions. This is the first class to be offered. We will
schedule more depending on demand. This date is limited to 12 participants (and
I already know of two!). So, please send me,
Tom Langer, your
reservation
first come, first served. Thanks!
