Medical

As a coach you should:

  • Get trained - The Red Cross has an excellent Sports Safety Seminar. You should also be CPR trained.
  • Have a medical bag at all times.
  • Have a parent team member - It would be good to have another parent who is medically trained or receives the same sports and CPR training as you are.

Coaching tips:
  • Carry a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide in you medical bag. It will clean a uniform of any blood and will not ruin the uniform. That way, the player will be able to go back onto the field with out changing their uniform.
  • Use Zip lock bags with alcohol for ice packs. They can be used again, they can be cooled lower than 32 degrees Farenheit and they mold to the body part.
